I went to a room of my friend in my NID hostel. As I was returning I saw something on the back of the door. A smile just flashed on my face. It was done by me. It was the room which I stayed in when I came for Interview/Studio test for NMD ,09 at NID. I recalled that when I was about to leave NID after my interviews and studio test, about a year ago, I had a feeling that I would be coming back to this place of dreams and creativity. So I wanted to preserve my intuition and make clear that if I get selected, it would not be mere luck but a result of hard work, patience and a lot of sacrifices.

It was my second day at Pune. And I found something interesting. While I was strolling streets of Pune, I found a new way of crushing sugarcane for juice. I have seen electronic motor operated crushers, with metal machinery, generally running on generator power. I have seen hand operated machines. This one was interesting. It was built of wood.... and the operator had to move himself in a circle to rotate the crushers.

Blood Donation Camp in NID
It was a nice experience donating blood for a philanthropic cause in a camp organised by my fellowmates. The camp was organised by SDM students ( Sushil Mate, Mayukhni Pandey and Rupinder Kaur . This was the first time that I was donating blood.I was a littttle nervous... not because of the needle, but simply due to the reason that some problem should not arise due to the carelessness of the people in the camp. Neverthless, everything went fine...( as a proof I m writing this blog entry after 2 days of donating blood).

Open Elective.. Fountain Pen
My open elective was Objects of Desire:Writing instruments. I had a lot of hopes from the elective but it ended up only viewing a few catalogs and brochures of expensive pens ! I though made a fountain pen out of rosewood. It was a nice experience working in the workshops. I made the carvings with hand, searched the entire market for 2 days for just a small green colored bead... which i did not got till end. My theme was INDIAN OCEAN. The characteristics which I tried to hightlight through my pen are as follows-
- Indian ocean is the 3rd largest ocean.
- It is the only ocean named after a country.
- It is the only ocean with green waters.
- The ocean has plenty of CORALs and splendid life forms.
